Parliament Street construction
Red traffic cones have lined Parliament from Prospect south to Winchester for several days. These spaces were reserved for parking by construction equipment, workers and police. Apparently, this was done to avoid parking these vehicles in the residential areas in Winchester Park. Enbridge is updating its gas lines along Winchester to Parliament.
A new medical centre
The building at 601 Parliament continues to be renovated. A new medical centre has located there on the ground floor and a new pharmacy will soon open. New patients and walk-ins are welcome. Additional renovations are planned for the second floor offices.
St Martin’s School
Repairs have been going on all summer at St Martin’s (55 Salisbury). Todd, one of the Vice Principals, says that new windows and doors have been installed and now the external stairs are being replaced. This work will likely conclude this weekend and the vehicles in the parking lot will be taken away. This exterior work comes after considerable investments were made inside the building with a new boiler system and new lighting. St Martin’s is often an election poll but it won’t be during the municipal campaign, possibly because of the construction.
