CABBAGETOWN NEIGHBOURHOOD
REVIEW
FESTIVAL NEWS
A quick reminder about traffic
Parliament Street from Wellesley to Gerrard and Carlton Street from Parliament to Ontario will be closed to traffic all weekend, not just during the day. The streets will close at 6 am on Saturday and reopen at 10 pm on Sunday. Amelia, Prospect, Winchester, Lancaster, Carlton east of Parliament and Spruce will not exit onto Parliament and Berkeley will be blocked at Carlton during these times. One-way streets around the Festival will also change direction.
Bike Valet
Cycle Toronto and Toronto Hydro have teamed up to help you take your bike to the Cabbagetown Festival. You can drop off your bike and they’ll watch it for you. Carlton & Parliament, on Saturday from 12:30 to 10 pm and on Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm.
Congrats Gina
Her program at the Cabbagetown Short Film Festival was a success - every film was a winner. The Festival returned to the Winchester Street Theatre and it’s a comfy venue for the Cabbagetown audience. It was, as always, a great start for the Festival weekend.
Donate to the Cabbagetown Youth Centre
Traditionally, funds from Blair’s Run have gone to the CYC (2 Lancaster). This year, the race is focused instead on Riverdale Farm. If you want to continue your support for the CYC, please use this link.
New Roots Dinner
Find out more about the New Roots dinners at the Green Thumbs Growing Kids table in front of Daniel et Daniel (248 Carlton). Daniel et Daniel is organizing the dinner series. They happen on Tuesday October 2 from 6:30 pm at eight locations across Cabbagetown in support of Green Thumbs Growing Kids. Your meal will be designed by D & D’s executive chef Karen O’Connor and executive pastry chef Bonnie Kravitz. Tickets are selling fast - $150 (early bird) and $200 (regular).

NEIGHBOURHOOD SALES
All across Cabbagetown, neighbours will be displaying special goodies in their front yard sales. Stroll through the streets and you’ll uncover plenty of treasures at bargain prices.
If you’re hosting a sale and you live inside the Cabbagetown Residents’ Association boundaries (Parliament to the Don Valley, Gerrard north to St James Cemetery), you can give their free reuseable bags to your customers. Thanks to Nick & Hilary for arranging this project. Email info@cabbagetowner.com for info and supplies.
